ABOUT DELPHI RISE:

Delphi Rise is a small but impactful community-based, non-profit behavioral health organization that focuses on supporting individuals with substance use addiction. Since 1936, we have been offering our community an array of services including Outpatient Treatment; school-based prevention, education and counseling; prison Reentry Services; HUD Rapid Re-Housing supports; and Health Homes Care Management services. We also operate an Open Access Clinic, providing on-demand substance abuse evaluations and referrals. In fact, we are the only 24/7 Open Access Provider in Monroe County!

SUMMARY:

Returning from state prison is overwhelming, and many struggle to find safe housing, stable employment, and access to food, clothing or transportation. They often return to the same environments where they came from; without the support they need, there is a high likelihood of rearrest. Delphi Rise is proud to offer services to support individuals as they return home.

The role of a Peer is new to the Reentry Program but not to Delphi Rise. A Peer is someone who has lived experience with substance use and/or a incarceration, and uses their experiential knowledge to support the goals of individuals we serve. Peers are natural support experts, meaning that the relationships they establish can lead to increased feelings of support, safety, and wellbeing among the individuals in our program.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Meet with clients to provide guidance, support and assistance with referrals to necessary services.

· Assist client with filling out intake paperwork.

· Educate clients on existing support services as well as formal recovery support services.

· Model coping skills.

· Provide non-clinical crisis support.

· Accompany clients to court appearances and other appointments (when approved and arranged by Supervisor).

· Work with participants to identify strengths.

· Educate program participants about various community supports.

· Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: The minimum requirements for this position:

1) High School Diploma or GED

2) Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) or Certified Recovery Peer Advocate (CRPA-P or CRPA)

3) Ability to utilize a computer

4) Reliable transportation and a clean driver’s license

POSTION INFORMATION:

• Daytime hours: Monday-Friday (note: the days of the week worked are flexible)
• 3 days per week
• This is a part-time position. Total hours worked will be three days per week, 7.5 hours per day with a 30 minute lunch.
